Users with the Manage Cards user permission can view all cardholders' authorisations at any time via the ExpenseIn web portal. This section can be useful to review cardholder expenditure.
To view all cardholder authorisations, follow the steps below:
1. Go to the Cards module and click Manage.
2. In the Transactions section, click the Authorisations subheading.
3. A list will display all authorisations incurred by your cardholders.
Note: You can use the Filter options available to help filter the authorisations.
4. To view the details of an authorisation, click the eye icon against the transaction, and a pop-up window will appear with the authorisation details.
Note:
The 'Status' field within the authorisation details will provide further information if the authorisation has failed for any reason, E.g. Due to insufficient funds or the card being inactive.
An authorisation can either be approved or declined and will always show on the authorisation screen.
The table below confirms the different statuses you may see, along with the reason behind them.
Status | Reason |
Pending | The authorisation request has been created, is awaiting approval and/or is waiting for the funds to be called by the merchant. |
Closed | The authorisation has been completed (regardless of whether it was approved or declined). |
Reversed | The authorisation has either been manually voided by a merchant or expires without being captured. In such cases, the held funds are released back to your issuing balance (Available Balance). |
5. Click Close to finish viewing the authorisation details.
