Authorise ExpenseIn to connect to Xero

Learn how to connect your Xero accounting package to ExpenseIn to use the direct integration.

To use the Xero direct integration to post expense and invoice data, or to synchronise reference data, you must first link your Xero account to ExpenseIn.

Note: For security reasons, ExpenseIn cannot link your ExpenseIn account and Xero account on your behalf. This must be completed by an authorised person from your company.

To connect your Xero account to ExpenseIn, follow the steps below:

1. Click the Account Name > Admin.

2. In the Integrations section, click the Accounting subheading.

3. Locate Xero from the available connections list and click the Connect button.

4. You'll be redirected to login.xero.com to authenticate your Xero account.

Note: ExpenseIn does not store or have access to your Xero login credentials.

5. When prompted, click Allow Access if you're happy to allow ExpenseIn to access your Xero user information.

6. On the next screen, click Allow Access if you're happy to proceed and connect ExpenseIn to your Xero organisation.

Note: If you have multiple organisations in Xero, you'll also be prompted to select the one you want to connect.

7. Go back to the Accounting page to ensure the Xero integration has a Connected status.
