Static fields allow you to create fixed values when mapping ExpenseIn's fields to your accountancy package. This can be useful when you need data that cannot be retrieved from the transaction, such as a fixed bank account code or supplier reference that applies to all transactions being posted.

There are two types of static fields available:

  • Text field

  • Date field

To create a static field, complete the following steps:

1. Go to Admin > Integrations.

2. In the Integrations area, next to your accountancy package connection, click Actions > Mapping.

3. In the mapping screen, click Edit Static Fields found under the accountancy package logo.

4. Click New Field; select the static field type you want to create from the drop-down menu.

Text Field

1. In the Name field, enter a name to help you identify the static field when setting up your integration mapping.

2. In the Value field, enter the value that matches the relevant field in your accountancy package.

3. Click Create.

Date Field

1. In the Name field, enter a name to help you identify the static field when setting up your integration mapping.

2. In the Value field, use the date picker to select a static date to post against the relevant field in your accountancy package.

Please Note: If you need to change your static date value for future postings, you'll need to edit your static field manually.

3. Click Create.

Once you have finished creating your static fields, you can return to the integration mapping screen by clicking Back to Settings.

Your static fields will now display at the bottom of the drop-down list against each of the applicable mappable fields for you to select as a mapping option.
