Users with the Manage Cards user permission can deactivate cardholders within the ExpenseIn Cards module. You may need to deactivate a cardholder if they've left the business or no longer need their cardholder account.

Note: Once a cardholder has been deactivated, all authorisations will be declined, and no transactions will be successful regardless of any cards that may be active against them.

To deactivate a cardholder, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Cards module and click Manage.

2. In the Manage section, click the Cardholders subheading.

3. Find the cardholder you'd like to deactivate, then click the three dots icon against the cardholder and select Deactivate from the drop-down.

4. Click Continue on the pop-up window to confirm the deactivation of the cardholder.

5. A banner will appear at the top of the screen to confirm the cardholder has been deactivated, and a yellow Inactive label will display against the cardholder.

Note: If the cardholder needs to use their ExpenseIn Card for any purchases going forward, you'll need to reactivate the cardholder by clicking the three dots icon against the cardholder and then selecting Activate from the drop-down.
